How to use the tactics board
The board is built to be faster than screenshotting the game and scribbling on it. Pick a format (5v5 is the default because it is the core quickplay mode in Strikers Club), pick a formation preset, and every shirt snaps into place. From there:
- Drag any shirt where you want it. On a phone, tap a shirt to select it, then tap the spot on the pitch where it should stand. That two-tap flow is far more precise than dragging with a thumb.
- Selecting a shirt paints its coverage zonein green: the penalty box for a goalkeeper, the defensive third for a DF, the middle band for an MF, the attacking third for an ST. If two neighbours' zones barely touch, you have found the gap opponents will run through.
- Double-tap a shirt to rename it.Put your actual squad's names on the shirts before you share the board; people follow an instruction faster when it has their name on it.
- Arrow mode lets you drag from a shirt to sketch a run or a passing lane. Select an arrow to delete it if the plan changes.
- Toggle the opponent team on to plan against a specific shape you keep losing to, or to walk your squad through what the enemy 2-1-1 looks like from your side.
Share a tactic: link, code, or PNG
There is no account and no save button because the entire board lives in the link. Every change is encoded into the address after the # symbol. Copy share link puts that URL on your clipboard, and anyone who opens it sees your exact board, names and arrows included. The short tactic code in the corner of the pitch is the same data without the domain, which is handy when a chat strips link previews. Teammates paste either one into the Import box to load it. If your server prefers images, Download PNG renders the board to a clean image file you can pin in a strategy channel. Nothing is uploaded anywhere; the tool runs entirely in your browser.
A 5v5 formation guide for Strikers Club
Strikers Club quickplay is five a side: a dedicated goalkeeper plus four outfield players. With only four outfield shirts, every formation is really a decision about which line you are willing to leave thin.
Start with 1-2-1
The 1-2-1 (one defender, two midfielders, one striker) is the balanced default and the shape we would hand any new squad. It gives you a passing triangle on each side of the pitch, and triangles matter more here than in most football games: the ball is fully physics simulated, so a passing option only exists when a real, unblocked lane exists. Two midfielders manufacture those lanes constantly, and the shape always keeps one player between the ball and your goalkeeper.
When to switch to 2-1-1
Go 2-1-1 when you are protecting a lead, or when the opponent scores mostly on fast breaks through the middle. Two defenders let one step to the ball carrier while the other covers the far post. The cost is midfield presence: expect longer defensive stretches, and plan to score on counters through your lone striker.
When to switch to 1-1-2
The 1-1-2 is the chasing shape. Two strikers pin both opposing defenders and your single midfielder feeds them. Use it when you are behind, when the opposing goalkeeper is shaky, or when your front two simply win most duels. It is honest to call it high risk: lose one midfield duel and the opponent is through on your lone defender.
The 2-2, and why "no GK-sweeper" matters
The flat 2-2 has no natural playmaker, but it is the most stable shape when your goalkeeper prefers to hold the line. In the other formations the keeper often has to act as a sweeper behind a single defender, rushing out to clear loose balls. In a 2-2 the two defenders handle that job, and the keeper can stay home and just save. If your keeper is new to the role, this is the kindest shape to put around them.
The goalkeeper is a real position, play it like one
Strikers Club gives the goalkeeper dedicated mechanics rather than an AI stand-in, and it is the single biggest lever on your win rate. A keeper who positions early, before the shot is taken, saves more than a keeper with fast reflexes who starts moving late. Use the board to agree where your keeper stands for corners, for 2-on-1 breaks, and for long shots, and mark with an arrow when they are allowed to leave the box. Our goalkeeper guide covers angles, rushing, and distribution in detail.
Spacing wins because nothing is random
There are no hidden stat rolls in Strikers Club. The ball goes where physics takes it, so position and timing decide almost everything. When two of you occupy the same zone you are not supporting each other; you are deleting a passing option and letting one opponent mark two people. Agree on zones before the match, keep your spacing when you attack, and collapse toward your own box together when you defend. The positions and team play guide goes deeper on rotations. And if you are arriving from Rematch and wondering how the two games compare, our honest Strikers Club vs Rematch breakdown covers the differences that change your tactics.
Tactics board FAQ
Is this an official Strikers Club tool?
No. This is a free fan-made tactics board. Strikers Club is a trademark of Oddshot Games, and this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. The board runs entirely in your browser and never asks for a login.
How do I share a tactic with my squad?
Three ways. Copy the share link and the whole board, names and arrows included, opens for anyone who clicks it. Copy the short tactic code and paste it in chat, then teammates load it with the Import box. Or download the board as a PNG image and pin it in your Discord strategy channel.
What is the best 5v5 formation in Strikers Club?
There is no single best shape, but 1-2-1 is the strongest default: it keeps a defender in front of your goalkeeper and gives you passing triangles on both sides. Switch to 2-1-1 to protect a lead and 1-1-2 when you are chasing a goal.
Does the tactics board work on a phone?
Yes. Tap a shirt to select it, then tap the pitch to place it exactly, which is more precise than thumb-dragging. All buttons and shirts are sized for touch, and the share link, code, and PNG export work the same as on desktop.
