What a playstyle is, in the developer’s words
“Playstyles change the skill moves your player has. Swapping out the default rainbow flick for moves like the sombrero flick or fake shot and other movement skills.”
The system debuted in Playtest 4 back in February 2026, where all three playstyles were named and described, and it reached the live game alongside the v0.79.0 monetisation update. The design intent is stated openly: playstyles are balanced to be different, never better. Four facts define the economy:
- Playstyles are sidegrades by design: the developer says they are balanced to provide a different way to play, not a better way to play.
- Every playstyle can be unlocked free with Fame, earned by playing quickplay matches. The developer commits to never locking playstyles exclusively behind a paywall.
- Tokens (the premium currency) can skip the grind: the Supporter Pack's 500 Tokens are described as enough to unlock a playstyle, and Pro's 1100 Tokens as enough for two.
- Playstyles change your skill move set only. No stat modifiers (pace, power, stamina) are advertised anywhere in official material.
