Game modes, from 1v1 to 11v11
One football sandbox, several ways in: skill-matched 5v5 quickplay, custom lobbies at any size up to full 11v11, a social practice hub, and solo modes for learning touch without an audience.
5v5 Quickplay
The core competitive format: four outfielders plus a dedicated keeper per side, matched by skill rating.
1v1 Duels
Pure mechanics practice on a smaller field. The press release pitches it as the serious rival-settling format.
11v11 Full Pitch
Full regulation football with 22 human players, run through custom matches, with an XL stadium option.
Matchmaking & SBMM
How the v0.79.0 skill rating, leaver penalties, backfill protection, and the mercy rule actually work.
Community Centre
The no-pressure online hub: practice moves, play minigames, and hang out with other Strikers between matches.
Free Play & Practice
The tutorial, free play, and target practice: where to learn touch and shooting without a scoreboard.
How the mode structure fits together
Strikers Club splits play into two tracks. Quickplay is the matchmade track: since v0.79.0 it runs on a hidden skill rating, punishes leavers with recorded losses, protects backfilled substitutes, and ends blowouts early with a five-goal mercy rule. Custom matches are the sandbox track: a lobby browser with search and region filters, password locks, spectator slots, and any format from 1v1 to 11v11, which is where duels and full-pitch matches live. Around both sit the social and practice spaces, the Community Centre hub and the solo free play modes, plus the tutorial that launch reviewers actually recommend finishing.
Formats themselves are verified from official material: Playtest 4 introduced formation choices of 5v5, 6v6, 8v8, and 11v11 with an extra large stadium for the big ones, and the launch press release pitches everything from serious 1v1 duels on a smaller field to emulate-real-life 11v11. The core quickplay experience is 5v5 with a dedicated keeper per side.
