Phantom, the deception kit

The deception kit: fake shot and La Croqueta to send defenders the wrong way.

Phantom is built on a simple observation: in Strikers Club, every defender and every goalkeeper is a human being, and humans can be lied to. Its two confirmed moves, the fake shot and La Croqueta, are both lies. The official description:

With your fake shot and La Croqueta moves, you glide across and fake out opponents to get the upper hand

The kit

MoveTypeWhat we can verify
Fake shotFeintSells a shot, keeps the ball. Cited as a playstyle move in the v0.79.0 notes.
La CroquetaMovement skillLateral shift across a defender. Classed as a movement skill move in v0.75.0 balance notes.

Why feints are strong in this specific game

In assisted football games, a fake shot mostly fights the AI. Here it fights a person, and the game hands that person real incentives to bite. A keeper who commits to a dive has committed physics, not an animation that resets; a defender who lunges out of the jockey stance at a shot that never comes is simply gone from the play. The fake shot converts defensive discipline into a tax on patience, and La Croqueta punishes the opposite failure, the defender who stands square and reachable. Together they cover both defender states, which is tidy kit design.

Strengths

  • Feints work on humans, and every defender in this game is a human.
  • Fake shot is strongest exactly where matches are decided, in the box against committed keepers and blockers.

Weaknesses

Labeled as our judgment, grounded in the verified kit:

  • Deception has a shelf life: the same opponent reads the second fake far better than the first.
  • No aerial flick tool is confirmed in the kit, so crowded ground play is where it must win.

Who should unlock Phantom

Attackers and wide players who beat their marker one on one and shoot in the box. It is the natural pick for wide players and strikers in 5v5 who regularly face isolated defenders, and for anyone whose finishing dies specifically against keepers who hold their ground. If your problem is escaping midfield swarms instead, look at Maestro.

Unlocking

Phantom follows the same economy as the others: earn it free with Fame from quickplay, or skip the grind with Tokens, where the Supporter Pack’s 500 Tokens are described as covering a playstyle. No stat changes are advertised anywhere; you are buying different tools, never better ones. Fame earn rates and exact prices are not yet published, and the Fame guide will carry them once verified in game.
