Fame and progression, explained honestly

There is no XP bar, no battle pass, and no visible rank in the launch build. What Strikers Club has instead is Fame, a free currency with a clearly published philosophy behind it. Here is the whole economy.

Based on the July 17 Early Access build. Progression questions dominate new-player chat: what am I earning, what should I buy, is any of it pay-to-win. Unusually for a free-to-play launch, the developer answered most of this in writing before release. The v0.79.0 update (July 7) shipped alongside a full monetisation vision post, and that post is the primary source for everything on this page.

Fame: the currency you earn by playing

The official description of how you earn it:

You can earn the currency (Fame) by playing quickplay matches. More ways to earn Fame will be introduced as development continues (Think of things like challenges).
Strikers Club v0.79.0 monetisation vision, July 7, 2026

So the loop today is simple: play quickplay, accumulate Fame, spend it on unlocks. The two things Fame buys are playstyles, the swappable skill-move kits described in the dribbling guide, and a portion of the cosmetics catalog. The developer commits to both staying earnable: playstyles “will never be locked exclusively behind a paywall” and can always be unlocked “100% free” through play, with money existing only as a skip button.

Fame versus Tokens: the two-currency system

CurrencyHow you get itWhat it is for
FameEarned by playing quickplay matches; challenges plannedPlaystyles and some cosmetics, always free
TokensBought with real money (added in v0.78.0)Premium store purchases: cosmetics, palettes, unlock skips

The published boundary between them is the part worth memorizing. Purchasable with real money: playstyles, cosmetics, convenience features, and color palettes. Earnable for free: playstyles and some cosmetics. And in the developer’s own capitals, what will NEVER be purchasable: gameplay advantages. They point to their previous game, Slapshot: Rebound, running nearly six years without predatory monetisation, as the track record behind the promise. That is a real reputation stake, though Early Access promises are still promises; we will flag any drift on the updates page.

A detail cosmetics shoppers should know: color customization respects the sport. Jerseys only expose a detail color slot because primary and secondary always stay team colors, so you can never dress to confuse opponents about which side you are on. Proper team colors for clubs are explicitly planned for a later Club update.

Supporter Pack and Strikers Club Pro

Two optional purchases exist at launch for people who want to fund development: a Supporter Pack and Strikers Club Pro (Lifetime), which bundle cosmetics, a title, and in-game currency. Pro is also earmarked as the future home of convenience features, things like customized quick chat and multiple character presets, none of which touch gameplay. Neither is remotely necessary; the sensible move in week one is the one from the beginner guide: spend nothing until you know which position you actually main.

Twitch Drops, codes, and the redemption system

v0.79.0 also built a reward redemption backend that handles supporter pack rewards, supports Twitch Drops, and lets the studio issue free shop codes later. Note the tense: later. As of July 19 no public codes have been issued, and any site listing “working Strikers Club codes” today is lying to you; our codes page tracks the real status and will list official codes the day they exist.

What about skill progression and ranks?

Your competitive progression exists but is invisible: v0.79.0 added a skill-based matchmaking rating that the game keeps internal for now, with the notes saying the stats will be viewable “at a later time.” The long-term pitch on the official site is climbing competitive ranks with clubs. The current state of all that, and what SBMM means for your queue, is covered on the ranked page.

Progression in this game is ultimately your own skill curve, so the best Fame farm is just being useful in quickplay: the guides hub covers every mechanic, and the tactics board makes your five win more of the matches you are earning from.
